CATPor - Goals

In collaboration with the Coordination of the Portuguese Language Program and Education Affairs in Canada / Camões, I.P., the primary purposes of this Association shall be: 

Promote excellence in Portuguese language programs in Canada.
Guide CATPor members in the establishment of high standards for Portuguese language instruction.
Create opportunities for CATPor members to exchange information, knowledge, experiences, and materials for Portuguese instruction.  
Encourage excellence in scholarship based on academic and practical research on teaching and  learning of Portuguese.
Encourage cooperation and communication between the profession and the community.

CATPor - Strategic Plan

Stimulate

the development of an active and engaging network of teachers of Portuguese in Canada.

Encourage

the exchange of teaching materials, resources, methodologies, information and experiences.

Promote

the use of technologies of information and communication and other technological resources for Portuguese language teaching and learning.  

Stimulate

best practices in teaching through conferences, workshops, websites, discussion meetings and other  professional events.  

Foster

the cooperation between educational, professional, and business Associations, in the public and private sector, to advance the field.
